E-commerce SEO Services: How to Get Product Pages Ranking

Related Insights
Key Takeaways
- •Category pages usually win the broad searches ("men's running shoes"); product pages win the specific ones.
- •Filters and sorting create thousands of near-duplicate URLs; canonical tags and crawl rules keep Google on the pages that matter.
- •Product schema (price, availability, rating) makes listings eligible for richer results in Google.
- •Speed matters more on a store: Google's Core Web Vitals targets are LCP 2.5 s or less, INP 200 ms or less and CLS 0.1 or less.
An online store does not rank on its home page. It ranks on its category pages for broad searches and on its product pages for specific ones. E-commerce SEO services are the work that gets those pages found, and they differ from SEO for a service business in a few important ways.
1. Category pages carry the broad searches
A shopper typing "cotton sarees online" or "steel water bottles" is usually shown category pages, not single products. Most stores leave these pages as a grid of products with no text. We give each important category a clear heading, a short introduction written for the shopper, and links to its sub-categories, so Google understands what the page is about and which searches it should answer.
2. Product pages need their own words
Product descriptions copied from the manufacturer appear on dozens of other sites, so Google has no reason to rank your copy first. Unique descriptions, real specifications, sizes, materials and the questions customers actually ask make a product page worth ranking. Clear titles help too: brand, product, the key attribute and the variant.
3. Filters create duplicate pages
Filters and sorting (colour, size, price, "newest first") can turn 200 products into thousands of URLs that show almost the same content. Left alone, Google spends its time crawling those copies instead of your real pages. We decide which filtered pages deserve to rank (for example "red sarees" if people search for it), give the rest a canonical tag pointing to the main category, and keep the endless combinations out of the crawl.
4. Product schema
Structured data tells Google a product's name, price, currency, availability and review rating in a format it can read directly. With it, product pages become eligible for richer search listings that show price and stock. We add it through the store platform so it updates automatically when prices or stock change.
5. Speed and Core Web Vitals
Stores are heavy: large images, sliders, review widgets, chat and tracking scripts. Google's Core Web Vitals give the targets a page should meet: the main content should appear within 2.5 seconds (LCP), the page should respond to a tap within 200 milliseconds (INP), and the layout should not jump around (CLS of 0.1 or less). Speed also protects sales; the Baymard Institute puts the average share of online carts that are abandoned at around 70 percent, and a slow checkout only adds to it.
6. Out-of-stock and discontinued products
Deleting a product page throws away whatever links and rankings it earned. A product that will return should stay live with its availability marked and alternatives shown. A discontinued product should redirect to its closest replacement or its category.
7. Internal links and site search
Breadcrumbs, "related products" and links from buying guides to categories pass authority to the pages that sell. Your own site search is also a free keyword list: what shoppers type into it is what they type into Google.
