Logistics ERP Software: How Flymingo Logistics Runs Every Department on One System

Key Takeaways
- •A logistics business loses time at the hand-offs: sales to operations, operations to suppliers, suppliers to accounts.
- •For Flymingo Logistics, ICore connected CRM, proposals, RFQs, supplier purchase confirmations, logistics handling and project management in one system, live in about 3–4 months.
- •Department-wise setup means each team sees its own work while management sees the whole job.
- •ICore logistics ERP starts from ₹75,000 per module, on Odoo, ERPNext or custom ERP.
A logistics job passes through many hands before it is billed: the salesperson who wins it, the team that prices it, the suppliers and carriers who quote for it, the operations staff who move it, and accounts. When each team keeps its own spreadsheet and email trail, the job is only as reliable as the weakest hand-off. Logistics ERP software puts the whole job in one system. Here is how ICore did that for Flymingo Logistics.
The project: full logistics integration for Flymingo Logistics
Flymingo Logistics needed every department on one system, organised module-wise and department-wise. ICore built and connected:
- CRM: every enquiry and customer conversation recorded against the customer.
- Proposals: customer proposals prepared from the enquiry, without re-entering its details.
- RFQs: requests for quotation sent to suppliers from the system.
- Purchase confirmation to suppliers: once a job is confirmed, the supplier confirmation goes out from the ERP and is tracked there.
- Logistics handling: the movement of each job managed in the same record that sales started.
- Project management: larger jobs tracked as projects, with their tasks and status in one place.
The full system went live in about 3–4 months.
Why department-wise matters
In a logistics company, sales, pricing, operations and accounts each need a different view of the same job. Setting the ERP up department-wise means each team works in its own module with its own queue, while every module reads from the same job record. Management can follow a job from first enquiry to final confirmation without asking four people for an update.
What logistics ERP software should cover
| Stage | What the ERP should do |
|---|---|
| Enquiry | Capture the lead and its requirements in the CRM |
| Pricing | Send RFQs to suppliers and carriers, compare their quotes |
| Proposal | Build the customer proposal from the enquiry and the chosen supplier rates |
| Confirmation | Confirm purchase with the supplier from the same record |
| Execution | Track logistics handling and project tasks to completion |
| Billing | Invoice from the job, with GST e-invoice and e-way bill where goods move |
GST for goods on the move
- E-invoice: businesses with aggregate annual turnover above ₹5 crore must generate e-invoices for B2B sales, registered on the government's Invoice Registration Portal, which returns an IRN and a QR code. Since 1 April 2025, businesses with turnover of ₹10 crore or more must report each invoice within 30 days of its date.
- E-way bill: needed for moving goods worth more than ₹50,000 in one consignment. When the ERP generates it from the invoice or delivery, nobody retypes vehicle and value details on the portal.
Odoo, ERPNext or custom?
Odoo and ERPNext both provide CRM, purchase, inventory and project apps that a logistics ERP can be built on; the department-wise flow and supplier hand-offs are configured or custom-built on top. Where a company's way of handling jobs is very specific, a custom ERP fits better. See our guides to Odoo implementation and ERPNext implementation.
Cost
ERP implementation with ICore starts from ₹75,000 per module, and a module typically goes live in 3–4 weeks. Odoo Enterprise carries a separate licence; Odoo Community, ERPNext and custom ERP do not.
